What I’m Listening To…Halloween Edition

Hello readers! I love listening to music of all genres on a daily basis. I can’t go a day without popping on some headphones and listening to some upbeat tunes while I dance around my room or relax from a long day by listening to calming songs. In this blog post series, I’ll be sharing some of my favorite song picks with you in a mini-playlist of five songs.

This month’s edition of “What I’m Listening To” will supply you with some spooky tunes for Halloween! This time around I chose some songs made for Halloween or have a supernatural theme to it. Enjoy!

1)I Put a Spell on You by Nina Simone

An absolute classic and one of my favorite songs of all time. Even though it’s been covered by many artists, Simone’s sultry voice in this rendition of the song makes this version my favorite. Plus a fun rendition of the song is also included in the Halloween cult classic film, Hocus Pocus! This is a must have for any Halloween music playlist!

2) Dark Lady by Cher

A creepy,mid-tempo pop song that describes a crime of passion is my second pick on the list. Dark Lady tells the tale of a woman who visits a gypsy fortune-teller in New Orleans and learns that her lover has been unfaithful to her. She is advised to never to return and soon the story takes a dark twist. It’s one of my favorite Cher songs.

3) Aha! by Pentatonix (Imogen Heap Cover)

Pentatonix does a great job creating a fun and spooky rendition of Imogen Heap’s song. The vocals are equally harmonious and eerie at the same time. The MV shows the crew sitting around the bonfire telling a tale of a couple’s dinner that is halted by undead intruders.

4) Voodoo Doll by VIXX

One of my favorite K-pop songs/videos with a supernatural theme is Voodoo Doll by VIXX. The MV is creepy and borderline disturbing as the VIXX members are trapped by a female captor who controls and tortures them through the voodoo doll. The special effects, music, and choreography are excellent!

5) Disturbia by Rihanna

For my last pick, I picked an energetic dance song by Rihanna. The beat is catchy, and I love the cinematography for the MV. The MV shows Rihanna dancing to a thriller-esque dance routine and an overall supernatural/eerie vibe!

I hope you enjoyed this mini playlist! What are your favorite songs that Halloween? Comment below with some suggestions.:)
