What I’m Listening To…Daydream Tunes Vol. 2
Hello readers! I love listening to music of all genres on a daily basis. I can’t go a day without popping on some headphones and listening to some upbeat tunes while I dance around my room or relax from a long day by listening to calming songs. In this blog post series I’ll be sharing some of my favorite song picks with you in a mini-playlist of five songs.
For this month’s edition of “What I’m Listening To” I decided to feature some songs about dreaming, daydreaming, or that have a dream-like quality to the melody.
Trouble Sleeping by Corinne Bailey Rae
Trouble Sleeping is a from her self-titled debut album. It’s not only a love song, but its a song about those sleepless nights where dreams don’t come easy. It’s fun, chill, and expresses what happens when the heart and mind don’t always agree.
Dream by Han Hee Jung
One of my favorite K-drama soundtrack songs. With lyrics that state “I’m dreaming, I hope it will be eternal happiness“, I think it fits this playlist well. This song has soothing vocals and I love its message of overcoming obstacles and staying strong amidst difficulties.
Me and Those Dreamin’ Eyes of Mine by D’Angelo
Lyrically, D’Angelo describes being captivated by a woman and wondering if his emotions are keeping him from seeing the truth about their relationship in this song. I love the smooth sounds of this track and vocal harmonies that make this song dream-like.
Dream a Little Dream of Me by Cass Elliott
I love this rendition of this song by Cass (from The Mamas and The Papas) and how lovely her voice sounds her. She also named her debut solo album after the success of this cover on the charts. This song is the epitome of a dreamlike feeling.
Dream Away by TILAR
TILAR is the fresh new voice of the funk and dance scene and wants to accompany their audience into their glittering parallel universe (via their own words). This band from Germany landed in a random shuffle playlist and I love their groovy song. The lyrics are motivating and encourage you to dream for the best in your life.
