Fictional Bookstores That I Love Vol.3

Since I’ve seen so many bookstores in my life that I want to visit, why not share some of my favorite fictional bookstores with you. Here are some memorable ones I wish were real!

Wonderland – Love in a Winter Wonderland

Books and Christmas! What more could a reader ask for?! This is a great read to enjoy during the last holiday season and it had all the cozy feels that you want in a Holiday Romance novel. The story is set in a Black-owned bookshop which made Bello’s story so much more meaningful as we are constantly losing indie bookstores (especially POC owned ones) every year. Wonderland sounds like such a welcoming bookshop with lost of diverse titles.

Hyunam-Dong BookshopWelcome to the Hyunam-Dong Bookshop

It’s no secret that I adore books about books and this novel was like a warm hug. It reminded me of reading Morisaki Bookshop where the bookstore is not only a place to find a good book but also an inviting space for wandering souls to rest. I loved the characters who felt realistic and easy to connect to on their individual journeys of growth. The bookstore has an appetizing café inside and it holds so many events as well. I love that the store’s focus is books and community and you can see it from the owner Yeongju’s passion for literature.

Oak Tree Bookstore – The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend

What drew me to this story was the main character Sara, and how she has such a passion for literature and how she wants to spread that joy around her.  Since the author worked in a bookshop herself I felt like she put a part of herself into the novel and showcases the intricacies of working in a bookstore and the careful considerations that go into making each display for customers. It sounds like the Oak Tree Bookstore would be a fun stop on a road trip and I would love to see all of their colorful displays.

Unamed – Can’t Spell Treason Without Tea

This story follows, Reyna and Kianthe, who dream of opening a friendly book shop together, serving the very best tea and cakes. What follows is a tale of mishaps, mysteries, dragons, and a murderous queen throwing the realm’s biggest temper tantrum. Reading this novel felt like being transported into an isekai fantasy world. I love the whimsical, yet cozy feel of this bookstore overall. It sounds like a place for refuges and you can peruse the books while trying all types of teas!

The Village Bookstore – Beauty and the Beast

The village bookstore is a small, one-story shop run by the friendly Bookseller Père Robert, which Belle frequently visits to borrow books, as it is a quiet, quiet sanctuary for her. The fact that Père also that he lets her borrow books instead of buying them is probably bad for business, but at least he’s generous. This bookstore may be small, but is a quaint refuge away from the busy town quare.
