What I’m Listening To…Autumn Leaves

Hello readers! I love listening to music of all genres on a daily basis. I can’t go a day without popping on some headphones and listening to some upbeat tunes while I dance around my room or relax from a long day by listening to calming songs. In this blog post series, I’ll be sharing some of my favorite song picks with you in a mini-playlist of five songs.

This month’s edition of “What I’m Listening To” will help you to get in the mood for the upcoming season. I’ve compiled a list of slow-tempo, calming tracks to soothe the soul and relaxing to during the months of Autumn. I hope you enjoy these songs!

1) October Nightscape by The Tourist

My first pick comes from Korean indie band, The Tourist. October Nightscape is a story about riding a cable car to the Namsan while watching the city lights and talks about feeling like a tourist in your own home. I love the female lead’s soft vocals over the smooth melodies of this song. It’s one of my favorite relaxation tracks.

2) Fly Me To The Moon (In Other Words) by Utada Hikaru

Utada’s vocals shine in her own rendition of the popular song Fly Me To The Moon.  This has been one of my favorite songs for many years and I love the fusion of jazz and pop music in this version.

3) In My Mind by Heather Headley

My next pick is Trinidadian R&B singer Heather Headley with In My Mind. It’s a slow tempo soul track that talks about a cheating ex. Heather is one of my favorite R&B artists and you should definitely give her music a listen.

4) When October Goes by Barry Manillow

A classic tune by Barry Manillow! It has a calming melody, but is also a sad song. I love the meaning behind this lyrics and how it is reflective of the seasons.

5) You Give Me Something by James Morrison

Last but not least, we have a mid-tempo pop song by James Morrison. When I first heard this song (during its initial release) I had it on replay constantly. Morrison’s soulful vocals along with the melody make this such a catchy song.

I hope you enjoyed this mini playlist! What are your favorite songs that remind you of the autumn season? Comment below with some suggestions.:)
