This week’s topic is the “Top Ten Books I’m Looking Forward To For The First Half Of 2017”. This list is only a slim picking of all the books on my TBR! So many good books are coming out next year!

the-hate-u-give

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas

I already have this preordered! This book has been needed now more than ever and I love that it’s inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement! I can’t wait till Feb comes so I can delve into Angie’s book!

when-dimple-met-rishi

When Dimple Met Rishi by Sanhya Menon

This book seems like a fun contemporary romance; a genre which I just started to branch out into this year. The story follows two teens that are thrown into arranged marriage by their parents.

i-believe-in-a-thing-called-love

I Believe in a Thing Called Love by Maurene Goo

More contemporary romance! This story follows a girl who wisdom of the Korean dramas she’s watches in order to tackle her dating fears. At the mention of K-dramas in the book’s synopsis, the story had me hooked!

always-and-forever-laura-jean

Always and Forever Laura Jean by Jenny Han

Yes! I love the entire To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before series and I’m excited that there will be one last book to tie up Laura Jean’s story. I really want to see how her relationship will work out as well as seeing more of her sister’s lives.

a-crown-of-wishes

A Crown of Wishes by Roshani Chokshi

I’m ready to delve back into the universe of the The Star-Touched Queen and I’m pleasantly surprised that we’ll be following a familiar character in the new novel. I wonder how it will tie back into the first book.

the-ship-beyond-time

The Ship Beyond Time by Heidi Heilig

You all probably know by now that this book would be no surprise on this list since I’ve been raving about The Girl From Everywhere a million times in 2016! More pirates and time travel! Yay!

history-is-all-you-left-me

History Is All You Left Me by Adam Silvera

I’ve been hearing great things about Silvera’s books, and I’m really looking forward to this 2017 release. His other novel More Happy Than Not has gotten a lot of great reviews from bloggers so I’m eager to read his books.

the-bone-witch

The Bone Witch by Rin Chupeco

This book is definitely giving me some Labryinth Lost vibes as it deals with a protagonist who is a witch with a gift for necromancy. The cover art is gorgeous and it’s got some supernatural vibes.

amercian-street

American Street by Ibi Zoboi

I’m working on reading more #ownvoices novels in 2017 and this book sounds fantastic. I like reading “immigration experience” novels because it not only expands my worldview, but also allows me to see what America is like from a immigrant’s perspective.

the-education-of-margot-sanchez

The Education of Margot Sanchez by Lilliam Rivera

Again, another awesome looking book that’s been circulating through the bookish part of the web. The book is a coming of age story set in the South Bronx.

  1. So many good choices! There’s a crap-ton of amazing YA coming out next year. I’m especially excited for the Heidi Heilig book because, hello, time-traveling pirates sequel!, but American Street also looks verrrrrrry good. And Rin Chupeco’s books are always creepy as hell (in the best way).

  2. Ahhh I’m also looking forward to When Dimple Met Rishi, I Believe in a Thing Called Love, The Hate U Give and Always and Forever! You’ve got some really great picks here – I’ve heard of The Education of Margot Sanchez before but forgot about it until I saw this list, so thanks for that. <3

    Here’s my TTT.

  3. Oh no – another Heilig – I haven’t read the first one yet!
American Street sounds good (and I love the cover) – just added it to the list!
