Reading Recommendations: Spring Reading

i'll give you the sun

I’ll Give You The Sun by Jandy Nelson

This book was one of my top favorite YA reads of 2015! The story follows twins, Jude and Noah, who are close until a tragic incident strains their relationship. We as readers get to see how this “catalyst of change” influences them as they come of age. I highly recommend this contemporary novel.

bee and puppy cat

Bee and Puppycat Vol.1 by Natasha Allegri

Fans of the animated we series will surely enjoy the comic version of Bee and Puppycat. This fun series follows Bee, the forever unemployed main character who can’t seem to figure out life, and the mysterious PuppyCat,  who is a stray cat? I love the colorful artwork and the zany situations the two always get into make me laugh out loud.

wild irish heart

Wild Irish Heart (Mystic Cove #1) by Tricia O’ Malley

A interesting fantasy/contemporary novel that takes readers to the scenic countryside of Ireland. Keelin O’Brien takes a break from her graduate studies in Boston and travels to a small village on the coast of Southern Ireland where she uncovers secrets about her ancestry. This novel is a light, fast-paced read that takes readers on a journey.

Assumption

Assumption by Percival Everett

For fans of the mystery genre, you may enjoy this moderately paced mystery novel full of suspense. The book is interestingly set up into three sections and follows three separate crimes. It’s sometimes tricky, in this novel, to separate fact from fiction and the author tries to prevent the readers from making general assumptions. There are lots of twists and turns as well as shocking surprises you won’t see coming.

multiple listings

Multiple Listings by Tracy McMillan

And last, but not least a light and humorous novel about facing your past head on and moving forward from it. In Multiple Listings, drama ensues when Nicki’s ex-con father unexpectedly moves in with her, her son, and her boyfriend. I’m adding this book as one of my favorite chick-lit novels of this year!

That concludes my Spring reading recommendations list. What books do recommend to read in the springtime or are books that remind you of Spring? Tell me your suggestions in the comment section below. 🙂
