Movies

My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2

Synopsis: A Portokalos family secret brings the beloved characters back together for an even bigger and Greeker wedding.

I thought this sequel was so cute! My Big Fat Greek Wedding has always been one of my favorite movies and I liked how the plot was set up for the sequel. Though it isn’t as strong as the original movie, I enjoyed that it kept a lot of the original characters and elements of the first film. Nia Vardalos is a gem!

Almost Christmas

Synopsis: This film follows a dysfunctional family that comes together for the holidays for the first time since their mother’s death.

In need of a feel-good film, my mom and I headed to the movies to see Almost Christmas and we both walked away with smiles on our faces. While this movie is a laugh out loud film, it also blends in some serious tones as each family member struggles with their own issues. All in all, it’s a film that reminds you that home is where the heart is.

TV

Hope Springs

Synopsis: Hope Springs is a British television comedy-drama series following the lives of four female ex-cons in hiding following a multi million-pound robbery.

Gahh! This show was so good and I’m so mad they cancelled it after one season, because it has so much potential!!! But even as a standalone series with only nine episodes (which are well crafted), I still recommend this show. Alex Kingston along with the other actresses in this show do a great job of pulling off their characters. The show is fun and comedic!

Sherlock: The Abominable Bride

Synopsis: The Abominable Bride is a special episode of Sherlock which depicts the characters of the show in an alternative timeline; in the Victorian London setting of the original stories by Arthur Conan Doyle.

Being a Sherlock fan, I couldn’t resist watching this holiday special. As with the rest of the series, the cinematography is excellent and I liked seeing Cumberbatch and Freeman portray their roles in a Victorian setting. It has lots of action and suspense to keep viewers entertained.

Yankee Candle- Christmas Cookie

Yankee Candle

One of my favorite holiday candles! It smells like a mixture of sugar cookies, warm vanilla, and frosting!

Music

One Step by Hyolyn

Out of the many k-pop songs I’ve had on repeat all last month, I’ve been non-stop listening to Hylolyn’s first mini album It’s Me. Ever since she released her first solo album Love & Hate, I’ve been waiting to hear more music from her. One Step is a 90’s R&B track ballad that has a smooth sound. But while I’m enjoying her new music, I still can’t wait till SISTAR has a comeback.

Greedy by Ariana Grande

Greedy is an energetic, upbeat dance track off of her Dangerous Woman album. Once I heard that funky bass line, I was hooked into the song. It’s a fun track and it makes you want to get up and dance!

A Pentatonix Christmas

Pentatonix is back with another fabulous Christmas album. I love all of the songs on here and they’ve been getting me into the holiday spirit. I have been enjoying their own take on Christmas favorites as well as some of the original songs that they included on this album.
