My Favorite Things: March Edition

favorite things meme

My Favorite Things” is a segment where I’ll share my personal and current favorites in seasonal products, health & beauty, food, decor, movies, TV, and more. To keep this segment separate from regular post “Literary Wishlist” I’ll be featuring non-bookish things. Hope you enjoy these personal picks!

Movies

Eddie The Eagle

This film is the story of Eddie Edwards, the notoriously tenacious British underdog ski jumper who became famous at the 1988 Winter Olympics. Its stars Taron Egerton, Hugh Jackman as the lead roles.

This was such an uplifting and inspiring film! Egerton and Jackman do a fantastic job of portraying these legendary sport figures and I loved their on-screen chemistry as coach and trainee. It’s a very moving film and I love the message of “never giving up” it sends to the audience!

Beauty

The Body Shop’s Vitamin E Eye Cream

Price: $19.50 (Source)

This is one of my  many favorite products from The Body Shop.  The Vitamin E Eye Crean is easy on the skin and it’s great for fixing the issue of dehydrated skin around your eyes. It’s a good product to use if your skin is sensitive to beauty products since it’s so gentle on the skin. I love that this product has slowly diminished the dark circles around my eyes!

Coach Poppy

Price: About $20-$40 (depending on retailer) (Source)

This perfume by Coach is amazing! This spring-like fragrance is a combination of sweetness, powder, vanilla, and citrus. I’m not really big on designer or celebrity perfumes, but this is one of the select few I will buy on repeat!

TV

Jane The Virgin

How could I have not watched this show until now?!! I discovered it was on Netflix and immediately set to devour the entire show. At this moment, I only have one episode to watch in order to complete the first season. This popular series stars Gina Rodriguez as the character, Jane Villanueva, who is a working, religious young Latina virgin, who becomes pregnant after being artificially inseminated by mistake. It parodies commonly used tropes and devices in Latin telenovelas making viewers laugh out loud. The cast and writing for this show is so epic that I can’t even put it into words!

Yankee Candle-Meadow Showers

I am such a huge candle fanatic, and this Meadow Showers scent from Yankee Candle is my favorite springtime candle! It has a very overall fresh scent and it reminds me of a rainy day or being outdoors. I would recommend this scent if you’re looking for a pleasant candle that fills the room without being too overpowering.

 Music

No by Meghan Trainor

Meghan-Trainor-No-2016

Meghan Trainor is killing it with her new song No! It’s such a fun, upbeat dance song with a beat that is reminiscent of the late 90s/early 2000s. It reminds me of a mashup of a Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears song.

The singer-songwriter songstress is back! Corrine is making a return to music with her new album The Heart Speaks in Whispers, coming out in May. Her new song Been To The Moon is smooth R&B track that shows off her talented vocals. Click to see the stunning music video for the single here.
