My Favorite Things” is a monthly segment where I share my personal and current favorites in seasonal products, health & beauty, food, decor, movies, TV, and more. Hope you enjoy these personal picks!

Music

Lifted by CL

cl-lifted

CL of the (sadly disbanding, but we saw it all coming) group 2NE1, breakout song Lifted is fantastic! It’s got a good beat, solid hip-hop vibe, and it definitely matches CL’s signature style. I’m not sure if there’s an official choreography for this song, but I’d like to see it.

Ain’t My Fault by Zara Larsson

I’ve started to listen to more of Zara’s music after I had her song Lush Life on replay. This song is catchy, the beat is great, and I like the lyrics. As for the music video, I thought the aesthetics and the choreography go together well.

Moana Soundtrack

After seeing the Moana movie I’ve been playing this album non-stop. I can’t even count how many times I’ve sung How Far I’ll Go at the top of my lungs. The songs are so catchy and you find yourself dancing along with the music!

Holiday Candle by Michael Design Works

As you might already know, I’m obsessed with candles! This Holiday candle by Michael Design Works smells absolutely lovely (their soaps are amazing too!).

Movies

No Filter

no-filter

No Filter is a Spanish comedy film about a woman visits a Chinese doctor and discovers her pain is due to pent-up rage. The doctor says the only cure is to fully express herself, whatever may come. This is a great comedy film and I like how it touched on the issue of expressing yourself. The main character is a normally quiet person and is given the freedom of speaking her mind, but we see the price of saying whatever you feel.

While You Were Sleeping

I’m a big fan of rom-coms and this film has been sitting in my Netflix queue for a while. Sandra Bullock is one of my favorite actresses so I was really excited to watch her star in this film about a hopeless romantic Chicago Transit Authority token collector who is mistaken for the fiancée of a coma patient. It was funny, sweet, and romantic, all at the same time. Bullock gets caught in this super cringe worthy situation and she has to try to go along with it in order to not mess everything up. This is such an enjoyable, feel-good film!

Total Messed Family

total_messed_family-p1

Total Messed Family is a fun South Korean comedy film about a dysfunctional family.Five years ago, Baek Se-Ju’s older brother Baek Chun-Bong ran away from home and then her mom separated from her father who is involved money-making scheme involving turning in companies and people who break the law in some small manner. One day, her older brother finally returns home, but with his pregnant girlfriend and things become chaotic. This is a funny film about the ups and downs of family, but I liked that it ended with a positive message.

Beauty

Aquaporin Moisture Foam Cleanser by Tony Moly

tomy-moly

I’m a big fan of Tony Moly’s skin care line an on a recently trip to Ulta I bought the Aquaporin Moisture Foam Cleanser. It’s the first face wash I’ve tried by the brand and I wasn’t disappointed with it. Since I use quite a bit of acne products, I’ve found it easier to use lighter/gentler cleansers on my skin. I found this foam cleanser to be gentle on my skin and moisturizing too!

TV

Dramaworld

When I first saw this scrolling through Netflix’s website, I rolled my eyes and thought this seemed like the stupidest show ever. I decided to give it a second chance and ended up binge watching the entire season in a matter of hours. Dramaworld is a show that follows a fan of K-dramas (Liv Hewson) who is transported to a realm where she has the power to alter her favorite show’s story line. Sound like it would be awful, but this show pleasantly surprised me by how well it was written. The comedy, acting, cameos, and plot are well done! The show is definitely made for viewers who enjoy K-dramas as it pokes fun at common tropes, among other things!

Crazyhead

crazyhead

Another awesome binge-worthy show I recently watched is Crazyhead. It’s a British show that is about two girls, Amy and Raquel, who attempt to navigate their way through the choppy waters of their early twenties whilst simultaneously kicking demon ass. This show is similar to Buffy The Vampire Slayer, but with raunchy dialogue. It’s hilarious and each episode is equally action packed as well. Part of what makes this show so entertaining besides its dialogue and plot are the leading actresses Cara Theobold and Susan Wokoma! With anyone else playing these roles, I don’t think this duo would have been as dynamic. I’m already looking forward to a second two. If you like comedy/horror style shows, this one is for you!

And that concludes “My Favorite Things” for December! What are some of your favorite things from the past month? Comment below! :)
