Favorite Blogging Graphic Resources

 

Over the years, I’ve become more comfortable with mastering blog graphics. In the beginning of my blog it was quite tricky to do basic graphic design, but it’s a lot easier now. Today I’d thought I share just some of my favorite blogging graphic resources. If you’re looking for websites to use, hopefully these will help you with blog graphics!

Canva is online graphic design platform which offers free access to a wide assortment of design tools and options for layouts.

Why I like it: It’s clear to navigate through, easy to use, and has a wide variety of layout options. It’s my number one site for creating some of the blogging memes that you see here on the blog.

Morgue File is website database for free high-resolution digital stock photographs.

Why I like it: It’s got a pretty good variety of copyright free photos to use for blogging, but the compared to Pixabay (below) I feel like they have less of a selection when searching by certain subjects.

Pixabay is an international website for sharing high quality public domain photos, illustrations, vector graphics, and film footage.

Why I like it: It has a great selection of photos for all different occasions. It’s also an easy sight to navigate and I’ve always been able to find lots of good quality photos!

PicMonkey is an online photo editing website that offering ad-supported free features as well as a set of premium features “Royale” available for a subscription fee, on an annual or monthly basis.

Why I like it: It’s very easy to use and while I don’t create blog layouts with it anymore, I use it edit my personal and blog photos. They have easy to use simplistic features such as Overlays and advanced features like Collage. Another bonus is that a lot of its features are available without having to pay for a “Royale” subscription.

flickr

Flickr is an image hosting and video hosting website which is widely used by photo researchers and by bloggers to host images that they embed in blogs and social media.

Why I like it: Another awesome source to find and/or host personal photographs. Though not all of the photos are copyright free, they have an option to search for creation commons images too.

  1. Awesome post, Rachel! I’ve never even heard of Morgue File, so I’ll definitely have to check that out over the weekend. I’m in dire need of new/a more extensive stock photo collection.

    CANVA IS BAE! My job introduced it to me some time last year, and I will never be the same. I am seriously addicted to Canva nowadays, mostly because of the ease to create pretty images. Picmonkey, though, will always hold a special place in my heart.

  2. Ooh, excellent list of resources! I’d heard of most of the image sites, but I didn’t know about Canva. It sounds excellent! I’m going to have to swing by and create an account — I’m not at all a graphic design lady but maybe I can do some super basic tasks. Thanks!!
