Iron-Daughter

“The Iron Daughter” (Iron Fey #2) by Julie Kagawa (2010)

Genre: YA, Fantasy

Page Length: 491 pages (hardcover edition)

Synopsis:

Half Summer faery princess, half human, Meghan has never fit in anywhere. Deserted by the Winter prince she thought loved her, she is prisoner to the Winter faery queen. As war looms between Summer and Winter, Meghan knows that the real danger comes from the Iron fey—ironbound faeries that only she and her absent prince have seen. But no one believes her.

Worse, Meghan’s own fey powers have been cut off. She’s stuck in Faery with only her wits for help. Trusting anyone would be foolish. Trusting a seeming traitor could be deadly. But even as she grows a backbone of iron, Meghan can’t help but hear the whispers of longing in her all-too-human heart. (description from Goodreads)

Review:

Loved it! After the first book in “The Iron Fey” series I couldn’t wait to read what would happen next. The plot from the first novel carries over and progresses even further this time. We get to visit new landscapes/places in the fairy universe such as the Never Never, as well as places in the mortal (our) world.

You see a lot more development and background stories from main characters such as Puck, Ash, Meghan, etc. The love triangle between these three definitely intensifies. We get to meet some new characters along Meghan’s new quest and are rejoined by favorites such as Grimalkin.

Final Verdict:

4 out if 5 stars. The Iron Daughter keeps the action going from the previous book and the plot thickens even more!
