It’s December and the lovely ladies at Girlxoxo, Traveling with T and Estella’s Revenge are once again hosting “A Month of Favorites”.Throughout December I’ll be participating in some of these fun topics where I’ll get to share and look back at my reading experiences from 2015. Today’s Topic: Books On My Winter Reading List

the darkest part of the forest

The Darkest Part of The Forest by Holly Black

I got this book for my birthday last year and I still haven’t read it. I’ve been postponing it because I know it’s a standalone and when I finally do read it I don’t want to admit the story will come to an end.

my true love gave to me

My True Love Gave to Me by Various Authors

I bought this book recently from Book Outlet and I cannot wait to read it! I know that it’s technically a holiday book, but it’s set in winter, right? That’s got to account for something.

menagerie

Menagerie by Rachel Vincent

I am so pumped up for this book! I read Vincent’s previous novel The Stars Never Rise and I thought it was so-so, but I think I’ll enjoy this novel more. Vincent’s a great fantasy writer.

misdaventures of an awkward black girl

The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl by Issa Rae

This has been on my TBR for a while, and I’ve been meaning to get my hands on it. Perhaps a trip to the library may be in my favor. I’ve been a fan of Issa’s work ever since I watched her web series Awkward Black Girl. I love the shows and content she has created online.

norwegian wood

Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami

I’m a bit peeved at myself for not getting to this book in time to finish the 2015 Books in Translation reading challenge. Fingers crossed that I get to it in the early months of 2016. I definitely want to read the books first before I watch the movie adaptation.

the winter people

The Winter People by Jennifer McMahon

It has winter in the title so I guess this is good for winter reading? I’ve heard a lot good things about this novel and it sounds eerie and suspenseful!

Long hair beauty with pink flowers

Winter Spell by Claire Legrand

I’m intrigued by this book. Again it’s more of a holiday read since it’s inspired by The Nutcracker, but I don’t think it matters.

That concludes my list of some of the books that are on my winter TBR list! What books will you be reading through the wintery months? Comment below! 🙂
