Today’s Topic: The Cheesy Goodness Tag!

The Rules:

Cheddar – The Traditional Cheese: Name Your Favourite Classic Novel

I have a lot of favorites, but one that comes to mind is The Color Purple. Walker’s works are mostly focused on the struggles of black people, particularly women, and their lives in a racist, sexist, and violent society. Though the topics used in her novels may be heavy, they serve as good teaching and discussion material for these very subjects.

Swiss – A Hole-y Cheese: Name an Emotional Roller Coaster

Neruda On The Park is a narrative that weaves together the tale of the Guerrero’s who live in the neighborhood of Nothar Park. his novel is lyrically written, emotional, and sometimes heartbreaking. Natera paints a vivid portrait of the life of immigrants in the United States as well as the trauma that came come with a significant change in our lives.

Blue Cheese – The Controversial Cheese: Name an Unpopular Book Opinion You Have

Pride & Prejudice is not a good novel. I said what I said.

Brie – The Favourite Cheese: Name an Author You Always Want More Of

Alyssa Cole, she has such versatility in all her writing. From her romances to sci-fi fiction. She always writes interesting characters and creative concepts that make me want to pick up each new release by her.

Gouda – The Dutch Cheese: Name A Book That Makes You Want to Travel

Island Affair by Priscilla Oliveras. This novel is a Latinx summer love story with a fake relationship trope that takes place in Florida. It makes you want to travel to a tropical destination and lay on the beach while enjoying the scenery.

American – The Fake Cheese: Name Your Least Favourite Book/A Book You Love to Hate On

I’ve read many shojo mangas that has the good girl, bad boy trope but this story felt underwhelming and needed a bit more substance in the narrative. It didn’t come off as very plot-heavy, which I don’t mind sometimes, but while reading this first volume I felt like something was missing.

Colby Jack – A Mixed Cheese: Name Your Favourite Ship

I really don’t have one that I can think of!

Mozzarella – The Simple Cheese: Name an Old Favourite You’ll Never Stop Loving

Just So Happens is a beautifully written and drawn graphic novel about grief and finding yourself. I loved Obata’s attention to detail in his artwork and the vibrant watercolors he uses to make the story picturesque, but realistic. I admired its message of “home is where the heart is” and how it tackles the issues of cultural identity.

Pepper Jack – The Spicy Cheese: Name A Book You Can’t Judge by Its Cover

Kinetics by Multimind. The cover gives a slight hint to what the story is about, but I was surprised at the direction the plot took. This novel is heavily science fiction as the title Kinetics actually plays a part in some of the supernatural action-packed scenes that occur in the book.

Muenster – The Monster Cheese: Name A Villain That You Wish Never Had the Joy of Eating Cheese Again

The villain in this slasher horror novel. He is despicable! It would be a suspenseful read with a very spooky atmosphere.
