Book Tag Thursday: Summer Reader Book Tag

As always for this segment I will find awesome book tags throughout the vast, wide inter-webs and complete mini-challenges. I’ll hope you’ll have fun and participate with me as well! Leave your own answers in the comments or write your post and link it back to me.

Lemonade: pick a book that started off bitter but got better.

It’s not that this book was bad at first, but it was definitely slow. This made it really hard for me to connect with the story, but once story picked up I was hooked. (Review)

Golden Sun: pick a book that made you smile beyond compare.

This book is full of many motivational and pick me up quotes to start and end your day. It put a smile on my face the entire time I was reading it.

Tropical Flowers: pick a book set in a foreign country.

This book is set in Feudal Era Japan where there are samurai, mythical creatures, and lots of magic. The setting definitely adds to the store folklore intertwined in the story. (Review)

Tree Shade: pick a book in which a mysterious or shady character was first introduced.

Right from the beginning of this book you are immediate suspicious of the sister who is committing the crimes as well as the narrator of the story. We know that things will take a dark turn in the story, but we are sure of what it will be. (Review)

Beach Sand: pick a book that was grainy, and the plot barely developed.

My main problem with the book is that at many points in the story I had a very vague sense of what is happening. And even by the end of the book when everything was revealed I was still confused. (Review)

Green Grass: pick a character(s) that were full of life, making you smile.

I enjoyed the concept of the main character spam email from an actual real prince and how the plot plays on the irony of the situation.  Both romantic leads have strong personalities making them entertaining. (Review)

Watermelon: pick a book that had some juicy secrets.

This is book is one big family drama as the reader sees how different events shape the community through “the yard”. There are a lot of secrets revealed throughout the novel which impact each character.

Sun Hat: pick a book that had a vast, big universe/setting.

This book is set on Earth and in Space making for a big universe setting. As the series progresses we get to see even more planets within space which makes it even more exciting. (Review)

BBQ: pick a book in which a character was portrayed as a hunk.

All of the Taggart brothers in the Hell’s Valley series are pretty much hunk heros of each book. But I liked that they even though they had a large presence, they are actually down-to-earth once people get to know them. (Review)
