Summer Reading Follow Up

So summer is ending….

Now (technically) according to the calendar, summer doesn’t end till sometime in September, but let’s be honest, it’s kind of over. Pumpkin lattes are taking over coffee shops, Halloween/fall decorations are starting to be sold and put up, and back to school stuff is plastered EVERYWHERE (literally you can’t escape from it)! Another additional reason? I also am going back to school as well. I guess I just feel cheated that summer went by so fast.

Reading-wise this summer (from June to August), I did an okay job. Not my best score of books read during the summer, but considering I worked almost every day of the week I think I did pretty decently. Here is a small selection of some of the books I have read and reviewed for you lovely people this summer:

I do not own these photos.

I think I might have read around 30 or so books. I didn’t review every book I did read this summer, nor did I add some of the books to my “read” list on Goodreads, which threw my counting off. I dabbled in some e-books as well as some graphic novels. I honestly think I won’t have time to read leisurely like I did in summer until maybe around Christmas time/my graduation.

What else did I do this summer, besides read?

I visited the movies quite a bit, as I usually do in the summer. Some of the awesome movies I saw were:

  • Maleficent
  • Guardians of The Galaxy
  • Tammy
  • Get On Up
  • Lucy

I also caught on some of the TV shows I’ve been watching:

  • Orphan Black Season 2
  • Bates Motel Season 2
  • Orange is The New Black Season 2
  • Secret Garden (Korean Drama)
  • Blue Exorcist (Anime)

I’m always listening to new music, but here are some artists I’ve had on replay all summer:

  • Lily Allen
  • HAIM
  • J Rabbit (Korean Indie Duo)
  • Crystal Kay (J-Pop singer, who just made her American debut)
  • Pharrell Williams
  • Lindsey Sterling

I also bought lots of books, ate delicious food, and traveled to local hotspots (links to posts below pictures):

While I will be busy with my teaching practicum for ESL at school, I’ll also be busy at work too. I hope to catch up and read some new novels as well as picks off my TBR list. TV wise, I’m currently watching Outlander (which is amazing) and I look forward to Sleepy Hollow season 2 and Walking Dead season 5! I also haven’t had my first “pumpkin” flavored drink of the season yet, so that’s something I’m excited for!

How was your summer? What you do and what books/movies/TV did you watch? Let me know in the comments. 🙂
