Cinnamon Chai Candle by Woodwick
I absolutely love fall scented things and Woodwick’s Cinnamon Chai is one of my favorite fall candles. It has a very strong cinnamon aroma that fills the room, without being too overpowering. What I like the most about Woodwick’s candles is that the sound of the wick burning is like listening to a crackling fire in a fireplace. It’s very calming.
Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo
Synopsis: Scarlet Heart follows the story of a 21st century woman, Go Ha-jin , who is transported back in time to theGoryeo Dynasty. She wakes up in the body of Hae Soo and there she initially falls in love with the gentle and warm 8th Prince Wang Wook, and later on Wang So, the fearsome 4th Prince. Meanwhile, rivalry and politics ensue among the princes, in a fight for the throne, as Hae Soo finds herself unwittingly caught between it all.
Alas! I’ve gotten sucked into K-Dramaland again. After finishing My Love From Another Star, I was ready for a new show and after hearing all the hype surrounding this show I gave in and started watching it. This is only the second historical based k-drama I’ve watched after Faith:The Great Doctor (which I highly recommend) and I love it. I’ve watched 14 episodes so far, and this show has taken me on an emotional roller coaster. I can’t wait to see how it ends.
White Clay Cleansing Foam by Cleansing Story
I happened up this mask at T.J. Maxx one day and decided to try it out. So far, so good! I really like that this cleanser is gentle on the skin and has a light fragrance to it. It has really cleaned up my skin and I’m looking forward to trying some of the other products from this K-Beauty line.
Fancy by Jessica Simpson
I’m not a huge perfume person, but this celebrity fragrance is one of my automatic buys. Fancy features a blend of pear, apricot nectar, red fruits and gardenia, rounded off by jasmine, toasted almonds, caramel, sandalwood, and vanilla. Though it recommended for evening wear, I wear it the daytime, but I just use it lightly!
How To Train Your Dragon
Synopsis: This fantasy film takes place in a mythical Viking world where a young Viking teenager named Hiccup aspires to follow his tribe’s tradition of becoming a dragon slayer. After finally capturing his first dragon, and with his chance at last of gaining the tribe’s acceptance, he finds that he no longer wants to kill it and instead befriends it.
So I’m a bit late on the bandwagon for this movie, because I finally just watched it for the first time. It was such a good movie and I can’t wait to watch the sequel. The story was heartwarming, the characters are lovable, and Toothless is by far the cutest dragon I have ever seen. This movie gets a A+ from me!
Pride, Prejudice, and Zombies
Synopsis: Five sisters in 19th century England must cope with the pressures to marry while protecting themselves from a growing population of zombies.
As you all might know by now, I could never get into Pride & Prejudice and I absolutely hated the book. When the novel of Pride, Prejudice, and Zombies I tried to read it, but it moved far too slow in the beginning for my tastes. I found the movie adaptation to be really entertaining though. I liked the 19th century zombies, overall action, and how this version of the classic tale keeps the elements of the original, but throws in some surprise elements!
Synopsis: Chun Ji-woong is an unemployed college graduate who continually fails job interviews and lives off an allowance from his mother, who runs a small restaurant in the countryside. Hong-sil is extremely frugal and denounces all activities that involve wasting money, such as going to church and the hospital, and even dating. Hong-sil’s favorite hobby is depositing her savings at the bank, but her plans are brought to a screeching halt when she learns that she needs a separate bank account under someone else’s name to reach her goal of $200, 000. So she tells Ji-woong that she’ll teach him the art of penny-pinching in order to include him in a short-term moneymaking scheme.
This is a great comedy film which had me laughing out loud during the entire time. While it’s very silly, it also brings up some important points about being too frugal and overspending. It’s basically a movie about having/doing too much of one thing is never good and also about not being afraid to let go in life. The lead actor and actress did a fantastic job in this movie.
All I Wanna Do by Jay Park feat. Hoody, Loco
I’ve been getting into Jay Park’s music more than ever this year. I’ve been a fan of his since his 2pm days, but I love his solo songs. This latest release by the singer has been on repeat for days! All I Wanna Do is an upbeat fusion of R&B and hip hop and it’s great to dance to. The choreography for this song was done by some of the dancers at 1MILLION dance studio and if you haven’t watched their videos I highly recommend it!
Gold by Kiiara
Gold is e debut single by Kiiara and was released as the lead single from her EP Low Kii Savage. I love the electropop sound and feel to this song. Also, the added twisty vocal processing/auto tune in the chorus definitely adds to the song’s catchiness.
24k Magic by Bruno Mars
I have been jammin’ non-stop to Bruno’s new song 24K Magic and I can’t wait for the third studio album to be released on later in November. The song has got that funky, 90s R&B feel to it and the beat makes you want to dance. My fingers are crossed that he will go on another tour soon, I’ve seen him live in concert and he puts on a great show!
