My Favorite Things is a monthly segment where I share my personal and current favorites in seasonal products, health & beauty, food, decor, movies, TV, and more. I hope you enjoy these personal picks!

TV

Cardcaptor Sakura

Ten-year-old Sakura Kinomoto is an ordinary fourth-grade student living in Tomoeda until, one day, she stumbles upon a mysterious book of cards titled “The Clow.” Pondering over her discovery, she unintentionally causes a magical gust of wind to scatter the cards all over town. The accident awakens the Beast of the Seal—Keroberos, nicknamed “Kero”—who tells Sakura that she has released the mystical “Clow Cards” created by the sorcerer Clow Reed. Due to each Card’s ability to act independently and their incredible power, Clow had sealed them away. Now that they have been set free, the Cards pose great danger to the world, and it is up to Sakura to put an end to them

This show has been on my anime-to-watch list for years! It’s a classic series from the creators known as CLAMP (legendary mangaka) that is basically a magical girl anime. The series is cute and being that it’s an older show, watching gives me so much nostalgia for how anime used to be drawn. Its colorful aesthetics and outfits are memorable and the show has interesting characters. There’s a lot of episodes so I’ll take my time with completing this series.

Beauty

Minions Banana Foam Cleanser

This is a gentle skin face cleanser that is great for to those with sensitive skin (like mine) and if you’re a fan of Minions too! It’s so soothing and smells like Bananas without the scent being too overpowering. It’s free of sulfates, parabens, and gluten-free. It’s a cleanser I like to use daily!

Black Girl Who Legally Became White – Story You Should Know

A series from the channel Comedy Hype, A Story Should Know, explores history in these videos. This was such an informative and interesting video about Sara Rector also known as the first black millionaire child. According to her story, Rector was so rich, she would end up being declared as white. It reminded me of some of the stories mentioned in the book, Black Fortunes.

Chews To Explore

I love to watch travel vlogs and especially travel vlogs on a budget. Chews to Explore is a channel that delivers on both aspects. The Chews are a couple that has a channel built around wanting to see as much of the world for as little as possible! our goal is to show that travel can be culturally immersive, adventurous, and educational for everyone without compromising your budget. Their vlogs are fun, and informative, and give you lots of ideas for travel. Their videos are very engaging and help me to add new destinations to my travel bucket list.

Music

Cotton Candy by Jinyoung

This is very much a “vibe” track because of its mellow groove and sound. It’s a song that feels light (just like cotton candy) and fits the vocal style of Jinyoung. It’s a comforting song I enjoy listening to when I’m in a chill mood.

Future Town by Paida

Future Town is a bubbly J-Pop track that sounds like an anime opening song. Its fast tempo will get you moving in no time. It’s cute, fun, and listening to this song puts an instant smile on my face.

Black Tea by Ruffin

Black Tea is a song that fills the listener with warmth because of its smooth sounds and vocals. It’s an optimistic tune that gets you excited while also having a chill City Pop vibe to it. I love to listen to this track while I work.
