Hi All! Wonderful Writers is a weekly segment that comes out every Wednesday! Every week I spotlight and discuss one of my favorite authors, books by them, and talk about their writing styles and such. I hope you’ll enjoy. Feel free to participate as well by writing your own post and as always you are welcome to use the meme/pic if you’d like (just remember to credit me).

About: Judy Blume is an American writer. Her novels for children and young adults have exceeded sales of 80 million and have been translated into 31 languages. She is well known for her books generating discussions of various topics such as racism, puberty, and bullying. Some of her most popular works include Forever, Blubber, and Are You There God, It’s Me Margaret?.

What I’ve Read (So Far):

  • Fudge Series (except for Double Fudge)
  • Blubber
  • Are You There God, It’s Me Margaret?
  • Forever

Why She’s A Wonderful Writer:

Judy Blume is just fantastic. I feel that every young teenage girl should read her novels because they are so much more than just books. Her novels tackled a lot of subjects growing up that I wasn’t used to, and they were eye-opening in a good way. Her books made you ask questions and take a minute to sit down and think about life. Her writing is lyrical and she always knows what to say and how to deliverĀ it. And her children’s books are so much fun as well. Super Fudge was one of my favorite books as a kid.

Did you ever read a Judy Blume book growing up? What kind of impact did it have on you?
