What I’m Listening To…Wintertime is Here Vol.2

Hello readers! I love listening to music of all genres on a daily basis. I can’t go a day without popping on some headphones and listening to some upbeat tunes while I dance around my room or relax from a long day by listening to calming songs. In this blog post series I’ll be sharing some of my favorite song picks with you in a mini-playlist of five songs.

The temperature has dropped and snowflakes fill the air! Winter has settled in and I’m all bundled up in cozy blankets and sweaters! This time around I compiled five songs with a very mellow vibe to enjoy during the season.

1) Olive & An Arrow by Nick Jonas & The Administration

I love this Nick Jonas album so much! It was his first album after him and his brothers took a break from being in a band. It’s a sultry slow jam full of soul, which you can hear in Nick’s vocals. On top of that, the bluesy guitar melody really adds to the song. It’s one of my favorite mellow tracks.

2) Winter Love by BoA

This is by far one of the best ballads from BoA. Her vocals are clear and powerful on this emotional ballad track. It’s a love song about a couple that is separating. I love the cinematography for this MV! The set design is so pretty and matches with the theme of the song.

3) Window Seat by Erykah Badu

This is such a good song from Badu! The song is low-tempo ballad with lyrics that concern escapism and the lyrics feel so real and vulnerable. It’s got a jazzy melody that is perfect for staying inside on a snowy day.

4) Yuri on Ice from Yuri on Ice OST

This was one of my favorite pair skating performances from the 2018 Winter Olympics. Yuri on Ice is a beautiful piano track that fits to the theme of the anime and this performance did it justice. What could be more fitting for Winter than ice skating music?!

5) Si Tu Te Vas by Diego Torres

Last on my playlist is a mid-tempo Latin track. Torres creates some fantastic songs to salsa and rumba to. Whether you want to put a little pep in your step to warm up or just relax, this song is perfect!
