What I’m Listening To…Holiday Edition
Hello readers! I love listening to music of all genres on a daily basis. I can’t go a day without popping on some headphones and listening to some upbeat tunes while I dance around my room or relax from a long day by listening to calming songs. In this blog post series, I’ll be sharing some of my favorite song picks with you in a mini-playlist of five songs.
This month’s edition of “What I’m Listening To” will supply you with some tunes for the holidays! This month I’m sharing some Christmas songs that I enjoy. A few are long-time favorites and others are quite new to me. It was hard to narrow down this playlist since I have so many favorite Christmas songs, but I did my best! Enjoy the playlist!
Meri Kuri by BoA
When I think of Christmas ballads in J-Pop one of the most notable ones that come to mind is this track by BoA. It’s a song that is not only festive but also great for the overall Winter season. It’s a popular J-Pop song that is about lovers promising to stay together forever on a snowy winter day. The melody is so soothing!
Groovy Xmas by The Linda Lindas
A fairly new band that has popped on the scene The Linda Lindas have caught my eye before, this Christmas track really solidifies my status as a fan for them. A mixture of punk rock while still keeping that holly jolly spirit this Groovy Xmas is a song that you can rock out to. It’s melodic and will get you moving in no time.
Santa Can’t You Hear Me by Ariana Grande, Kelly Clarkson
Both of Kelly Clarkson’s Christmas albums are fantastic and I highly recommend them! I love this collaborative track with Ariana. It’s an upbeat song that gets you dancing and I love the harmonies in this song. Their vocals are so well-suited for this holiday song.
Snowy Night by Billlie
This is a blend of Christmas/Wintry music to me. As I mentioned in my 2022 music favorites post Billie has been on my radar for K-Pop newbie artists. They have an eclectic sound and style which shows in this song. It’s not a typical Christmas song which is why it stands out so much to me.
8 Days of Christmas by Destiny’s Child
This album and this song along are certified Christmas classics to me. Every year this Destiny Child’s track is on replay non-stop. It’s a fun and playful song that gets the listeners in a Christmas mood all while grooving along to the hip-hop beats.
