What I’m Listening To…Road Trip Songs

Hello readers! I love listening to music of all genres on a daily basis. I can’t go a day without popping on some headphones and listening to some upbeat tunes while I dance around my room or relax from a long day by listening to calming songs. In my segment “What I’m Listening To” I share some of my favorite song picks with you in a mini-playlist consisting of five tracks.

This month’s playlist is full of five songs about road trips and driving in cars. Take some of these songs with you on your next trip, long drive, or even your commute to work.

1) Fast Car by Tracy Chapman

Starting off with a more mellow track, Fast Car tells a story about someone escaping from hard life and starting somewhere new. I love the guitar melody in song and how it pairs with Chapman’s smooth vocals.

2) Hit The Road Jack by Ray Charles

This soulful classic is one of my favorite Jazz songs of all time. With Ray’s vocals and that funky piano melody it always makes me want to dance. As soon as you listen to it, you’ll be bopping your feet along with the music.

3) On The Open Road from A Goofy Movie

This is of my favorites from an underrated Disney movie from my childhood. This song and movie are the ultimate road trip experience between a father and son. Plus it makes a great sing along song.

4) Roam by B-52’s

This is a great song about traveling around world and is a great wanderlust anthem. Whenever I hear this song I feel like driving a convertible with the top down and enjoying the warm breeze.

5) Life is a Highway by Rascal Flatts

This is another fun sing-along song with a very upbeat vibe! I always think about road trips whenever I hear this song.
