What I’m Listening To…Ready For The Weekend

Hello readers! I love listening to music of all genres on a daily basis. I can’t go a day without popping on some headphones and listening to some upbeat tunes while I dance around my room or relax from a long day by listening to calming songs. In this blog post series, I’ll be sharing some of my favorite song picks with you in a mini-playlist of five songs.

The “Ready For the Weekend” playlist is compilation of upbeat, high-energy songs that have you dancing into the weekend. These songs are great for listening to when going out on the town or to help keep you pumped up while cleaning the house during the weekend. As always, I hope you enjoy this playlist of awesome songs!

1) Cliche by Candy Mafia

Candy Mafia was a 4 member Thai-pop girl group that debuted in 2010 and unfortunately disbanded in 2015. This is by far my favorite song from the group out of all their singles. This energetic dance track is about letting loose and having a good time. The colorful outfits as well as the music video’s setting match the feeling of the music.

2) Get Up Offa That Thing by James Brown

Next up, is Get Up Offa That Thing by the “Godfather of Soul”, James Brown. Released in 1976, this song was Brown’s biggest hit of the late 1970s. I love the funky brass sound in this track and it’s fun lyrics about getting up, dancing, and having fun.

3) Gibberish by Max (feat. Hoodie Allen)

Gibberish is a pop song that combines elements of hip-hop and soul vocals. What attracted me to this song is its addictive melody and catchy lyrics. The song talks about cheating in relationships, but has an upbeat vibe to it since it is a dance track. The music video for this song is amazing and I love the reverse filming technique that was used.

4) Burnitup! by Janet Jackson

One of my favorite songs off of Janet Jackson’s new CD (which is very good) is Burnitup! I always find myself dancing along to this song while I’m cleaning up my house and it definitely makes the time go by faster. This solid collaboration with Missy Elliott will have you hyped up and ready to party.

5) Let’s Get Loud by Jennifer Lopez

Last but not least, is a song that I used to dance to in one of my previous Zumba classes.  It’s another dance track on this list that has a lively feeling with a strong Latin sound. Lopez sang this on her debut studio album, On the 6, which went on to receive triple platinum status.

I hope you enjoyed this mini playlist! What are your favorite songs that help you get ready for the weekend? Comment below with some suggestions.:)
