Tips on How To Read More!

With every year that passes, I find I have less and less time to read books due to time constraints, work, busy schedule and life in general. I’ve been working harder on remedying this issue and striving to read more in my daily schedule. Here are some tips that helped me that might help you!

Read for 30 min in the morning or night (or do both!)

I found this is a great way to work reading into my daily schedule. It’s easy to do and helps me unwind at the end of the day. This also helps me to read through longer books faster.

Watch less/Cut down TV, Netflix, YouTube

I am a huge binge watcher and have a tendency to watch way too much TV at times. I find make balance of the time between reading and TV (easier said than done) I can enjoy both.

Listen to audio books or podcasts that have short stories

I know like others, I’m on-the-go all the time. I’m not the biggest audio book listener, but I do love short stories podcasts. It’s great because you can still read while doing other tasks.

Read shorter books/novellas

While I love to read longer novels, they take a much longer time to get through. When I don’t have a lot of reading time I feel that shorter books are a better choice for me. If you’re doing a reading challenge or readathon novellas can be a good choice to complete the challenge.

Set up a TBRor stick to a reading list

I tend to not set up monthly TBR’s since I’m such a mood reader, but I do put together a small reading stack of books to focus on so that I don’t get overwhelmed by my bookshelves.

  1. Are you finding you have a hard time reading long books these days? Cause like, I enjoy reading shorter books and novellas, but I also am at a place these days where I can’t even make myself get through longer books. I’m reading a long book right now that I’m enjoying a lot, Steel Crow Saga, but even as much as I like it, which is a lot, I keep getting mad at it for being so gd long. 😛

    1. I go through moods about reading long books. I don’t have as much time to read longer books so sometimes I avoid them, lol. I try to balance reading shorter and longer books.
