Tea Time Review: “Reading Nook” Tea by Plum Deluxe

Hello fellow readers and tea drinkers! Although Welcome to another edition of Tea Time Review where I try various types of teas and share my thoughts about them. To see my most recent tea review, click here.

A while ago, the creator and founder, Andy Hayes, of a company called Plum Deluxe reached out to me about trying one of their delicious teas. Being the avid tea drinker that I am, I couldn’t say no to this delightful opportunity.

Plum Deluxe is a lovely tea company straight out of Portland, Oregon.  The company is a tribute to Andy’s mother, who lost a 6-year battle with breast cancer and as Andy states, “she was a woman who never forgot to enjoy the little things in life”. I love what the company stands for and all of the products they offer to customers.

All of Plum Deluxe’s tea blends are organic, non-gmo, vegan, and free of chemicals and sulfates. They sell many types of signature loose leaf teas and even have a monthly subscription box known as the Organic Tea of the Month Club where you can receive limited-edition artisan teas for only $10/month.

The tea I decided upon was the Reading Nook tea!

This caffeinated tea is composed of the ingredients: Black Tea, Rose Petals, Lavender, Chamomile, Vanilla Essence, Love, and Gratitude. It is recommended that you steep the tea with boiling water for 3-5 minutes and because it’s loose leaf you can steep it a second time as well. It’s also suggested that you can add honey, milk, or even a bit of sugar to sweeten this tea.

As the tea, steeped I could smell its lovely aromas, which only made me want to drink it right away.

The result

I ended up steeping the tea with boiling water for five minutes, and the result was a brownish color with a strong vanilla scent.

My Overall Thoughts:

Reading Nook has such a smooth taste and smells like a wonderful combination of the flavors listed in its ingredients. What ultimately stood out to me while drinking this tasty tea was its strong and rich vanilla scent and its warm, inviting aroma. I did add a bit of sugar to sweeten it up a bit and I also think it would taste great if it was paired with milk (which I’ll try in the future). I loved the overall taste of the tea and the fact that it’s a great standalone tea, whereas most teas I’ve tried needed some kind of snack to be paired along with it.

This tea is the perfect drink to enjoy with a book. It’s calm scent is also great for lazy days, or when you need some relaxing tea to help you through a hectic day at work. I’d highly recommend this tea if you like calming teas that have a vanilla & chamomile flavor.
