My Favorite Things: January Edition

My Favorite Things” is a monthly segment where I share my personal and current favorites in seasonal products, health & beauty, food, decor, movies, TV, and more. Hope you enjoy these personal picks!

Movies

BTS: Love Yourself in Seoul

Synopsis: The film takes place during the August 26, 2018 show of the band’s Love Yourself Tour at Seoul Olympic Stadium in Seoul, South Korea.

My friend Katie and I went to see this recently since we couldn’t get tickets to their concert in Chicago last year. I love watching concert films and this one did not disappoint. They had such a gigantic set with lots of outfit changes. It was cool to see them perform some of my favorite songs by them in a new way and l love how they kept a high-energy throughout the show. Definitely a must see for BTS fans.

Podcasts

Noona Ya Business

Hosted by two friends, Becca and Megan, talk music, shows, movies, and K-pop idols! They are such fun hosts and they make the listener feel apart of the conversation. I like the structure of the podcast and how they manage to throw in a game/ Q&As in every episode. Their recaps of K-dramas are hilarious! Be sure to watch the dramas beforehand to avoid spoilers!

Dis-Order: Every Disney Film

Hosted by Andy, Michael, and Hunter, this podcast is chronological journey through the struggles, sacrifices, and successes of every animated feature film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios. Being the Disney nerd that I am, I’m so glad I found this podcast! The hosts are not only lively, but give lots of small tidbits/fun facts about each film they discuss. I also love that they share their memories of the films from childhood. This podcast has such a nostalgic feel.

TV

We Bare Bears

Synopsis: Three brother bears awkwardly attempt to find their place in civilized society, whether they’re looking for food, trying to make human friends, or scheming to become famous on the internet. Grizzly, Panda and Ice Bear stack atop one another when they leave their cave and explore the hipster environs of the San Francisco Bay Area, and it’s clear the siblings have a lot to learn about a technologically driven world.

This show is too cute! I can’t remember if I’ve discussed it on the blog or not, but I’ve been binge watching this show all month-long. Each episode is 10-15 min long, so it’s hard not to watch them all at once. I love the bears vibrant personalities and how they always stick together. They always get in the craziest situations which make me laugh.

Love Playlist: Season 1

Synopsis: A story about the ups and downs of a normal life of five college students.

This is a web drama I found on Playlist Global’s Youtube Channel. They have a lot web dramas to watch and they are fairly short. Love Playlist has several episodes that are 5 min long and the story moves pretty fast. I can best describe it as a slice of life/romance story which follows a group of friends. There are love triangles, crushes, breakups and each episode shifts to a new povs so we get to see multiple sides of the story. It’s cute, fluffy, and enjoyable to watch.

Fuller House: Season 1

Synopsis: D.J., now widow and a mother to three sons, finds herself back in her childhood home alongside her sister Stephanie, an aspiring musician, and her lifelong friend Kimmy Gibbler, who is also a single mother. All under one roof, the women experience moments big and small together, including budding romances, holidays, parenting and life’s surprises.

I’m getting all the nostalgic feels from watching this show! I loved watching marathons of Full House as a kid and I enjoy seeing one of my favorite TV family’s all grown up. What makes it fun is that most of the show has stayed the same, but it’s more updated for new viewers. It’s a show full of laughs and a lot of heart.

Beauty

Anew Clean Illuminating Rich Cleansing Foam

I use a ton of Avon’s products and my daily skin care routine. This cleansing foam is light, smells good, and cleanses my skin without drying it out. I recommend this for dry or sensitive skin. Definitely a good winter skin care product.

Kao Megrythm Eye Mask

This is a great eye mask to use after a long day. It helps soothe tired eyes from releasing light steam. It has such a calming effect and after 10 minutes (recommended time limit) my eyes start to feel a lot better. I’m going continue to use this. I recommend the lavender-scented one.

Music

Poncho Sanchez

I got the opportunity to see Poncho live at the Detroit Symphony Orchestra a couple of week ago and since then I’ve been listening to his albums. I always love finding new Jazz artists. His Latin Jazz band is spectacular and I love how smooth the music is.

Really Bad Boy (RBB) by Red Velvet

Though it’s not the best of all their singles, this is such a good song! It’s incredibly catchy with its repetitive chorus and I like how the MV has a horror movie feel. I hope they start releasing some more R&B sounding tracks for their next comeback.
