Fictional Libraries I Love – Part 2

Since I’ve seen so many libraries in my life that I want to visit, why not share some of my favorite fictional libraries with you. Here are some memorable ones I wish were real! Click here to see part one of my library picks.

Land of Ooo’s Cavernous Library – Adventure Time

“We’ll go to very distant lands” in Adventure Time which follows the adventures of  Finn who battles evil in the Land of Ooo assisted by his magical dog, Jake. The library in this series is under the care of the librarian, Turtle Princess, and the secret guardians of books, the Pagelings. Jake and Finn get to do a lot of research here for the adventures they go on. Could you imagine all the fun books this library has with all of the whimsical beings of the Land of Ooo?

Shermer High School’s Library – The Breakfast Club

I have watched this film too many times to count. The Breakfast Club is a story about five high school students who meet in Saturday detention and discover how they have a lot in common, but my focus was on the library. I had never seen a high school library that massive before in my life! It has a very modern and sleek design with a lot of open space. Lots of room for reading, studying and just hanging out with friends.

The Library – The Librarians

In The Librarian film series and TV show, The Librarians are an ancient organization dedicated to protecting the world from a magical and fantasy-like secret reality. Though the series features some footage of real-life libraries, the main library it’s set in is fictional. The series shows so many cool libraries and features characters from famous pieces of literature. A bookish adventure indeed.

Multiple Libraries – Library Jumpers Series

Thief of Lies is a fantasy YA novel about a teenage girl name Gia with a passion for books and all things literary. One day Gia and her friends Afton and Nick get sucked into a library book prompting them on an adventure-filled, but dangerous journey. I love the action-packed battle scenes and how the characters get to “jump” into a variety of libraries. The Sentinels, fighters who protect humans from the creatures that lie within the book gateways have some awesome powers too.

Magical Bureau Library – The Newlywed Diary of a Witch and a Dragon

This webtoon story follows Wendy Blanchett, a talented young leader of the Rune Research Division, who is faced with a dilemma when the newbie, Aiden Winters, asks her to marry him. Because the main characters are thrown into marriage, we get to see them work towards building a life together and learning about each other’s pasts. Being that the main character is a witch, with high rankings in her department and overall skill she gets used to the libraries within the bureau. With shelves stacked high to the ceiling the number of books in this academic-style library is endless and magical.
