How do you keep track of your TBR pile?

I didn’t used to keep track of anything until recently I started keeping closer tabs on Goodreads accounting order to see what books are on my TBR list.  I’m at the point where I have small physical stacks of books categorized by: the books I’ve bought that are next in line for me to read, an ARC/review copy pile, and books I borrowed from the library. I think if I only tracked my TBR list electronically I could never keep up with it.

Is your TBR pile mostly print or e-book?

Print. Whatever is on my e-reader I choose to read randomly.

How do you determine which book from your TBR to read next?

If it’s an ARC, I would determine it by the publication date. For anything else, I determine it by how long it has been sitting on my TBR list or if it’s an anticipated read.

A book that’s been on your TBR the longest?

Oooh boy, there a lot of those and I mean A LOT. There are some books sitting on my Goodreads shelf from 5 years ago. Yikes! One book I can think of off the top of my head is Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella. I started reading it, set it down, and then had to take it back to library. It’s happened at least three times now, so I really need to just sit down and finish the book.

A book that you recently added to your TBR pile?

enter title here

Enter Title Here by Rahul Kanakia. The cover art is simple, but catches your eye. Plus this story sounds interesting. Too bad it isn’t released later this year in August, I want to read it ASAP!

A book on your TBR strictly because of its beautiful cover.

a study in charlotte

A Study in Charlotte by Brittany Cavallaro. I am a huge Sherlock fan, but I’ll admit that I added to my TBR list before I even read the synopsis.

A book on your TBR that you never plan on reading.

There’s actually quite a bit. I’ve been in the process of purging books physically and electronically so I’ve gotten rid a lot of books since I know I won’t be fully invested in them. Either I’m not intrigued by them anymore or I won’t have time to read them.

A book on your TBR that everyone recommends to you.

night-circus

Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. I have had a couple of my bookish friends recommend this book to me a couple of times, so I plan to get around to reading it early this year.

A book on your TBR that everyone has read but you.

Six-of-Crows

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. I know it just came out last year, but I’ve heard a lot of buzz about it. I even own the first book in the Grisha Trilogy and I’ve never read it. I feel like I’m missing out on Bardugo’s books.

A book on your TBR that you’re dying to read

Alexandra-Bracken-Passenger

Passenger by Alexandra Bracken. It’s a highly anticipated read for 2016 and I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy. The plot sounds exciting!

How many books are on your Goodreads TBR shelf?

400 books. Oh boy, that’s more than I expected.

  1. I’m reading A Study in Charlotte right now! You’re right, the cover is gorgeous. A bit of a slow start, but I’m really enjoying it now!
