Pick a book for a day in

I love a good fantasy series to read indoors on a too hot or rainy day. I usually gravitate to series that are fast paced/trilogies. The Secret World of Maggie Grey is dark academy fantasy series by Granger which following a vampire, witch, and siren attending a magical HBCU as they uncover secrets.

Pick a book you’d take with you on the road

While on a road trip or long car rides, I like to read books set on the open road. One read I adored was I Wanna Be Where You Are by Kristina Forest. This novel is a quintessential coming of coming of age story mixed with with a spontaneous road trip. This novel gave me all the vibes of a friend to lovers romance that was cute and an important message about facing your fears
Iced Tea Goodness
Pick a book with a cold setting

This fantasy novel takes readers on an exciting adventure and quest for truth that ultimately blends the our world with the supernatural. The threat of a never-ending winter (speaking from someone who hates being cold) is terrifying finding a way to stop this takeover involves some dangerous moves.
Nasty Sunburn
A book you really disliked (so far) this year

Rather than the humor this book as described as being it reads as overwhelming academic, which took me out of the book at times. It was just an okay read, but the plot concept was interesting.
Sizzling Read
Recommend one of your favorite books

This is my favorite read from my local Graphic Novel Book Club pick this year! This graphic novel is about a demon Rakshasa dreams of becoming like Anthony Bourdain and recruits a filmmaker to document Indian cuisine, but their food documentary takes a sinister turn.
