Favorite Book of All Time

I don’t have one favorite book of all time. I have too many favorites to count. But one book that always stands out on my mind from my 2020 reads is Queenie. It’s real, funny, sad, and heart-warming all at the same time.

Favorite Book Five Years Ago

Looking back through my reads from this time period this was one of my top reads of the year. I enjoyed this contemporary novel thoroughly and an added bonus to the story was the mixture of the real world and fantasy.

Favorite Duology/Trilogy/Series

This is one of my favorite historical series. Gabaldon’s books can be quite dense and take a long time to read, but I love how detailed her writing is. It’s a very immersive reading experience.

Last Book You Read

This was a fun contemporary romance novel that follows the trope of dueling chef and it’s full of delicious recipes. Review to come soon!

Last Book of Poetry You Read

I’m not a big poetry reader, so I don’t read too much of this genre. The last poetry book I read was Broken Wings. It’s a raw, emotional, inspiring, and a heartbreaking collection of poems. While some poems dealt with some difficult topics that are hard to swallow, others were uplifting and I felt it was a solid balance of both emotions.

What Book Most Influenced Your Life

I loved how personal each essay was in this book and how the overall collection focuses on recognizing yourself in literature. It made reflect a lot on the influential books in my life and the importance of reading all types of stories.

Book That Made You Ugly Cry

While this book was a lot of fun, it also made me sentimental at the same time. I read this in the fall and during the summer I had dealt with the loss of my grandma. Rosa goes through a similar ordeal and this book made me cry and reflect on memories I had spent with my grandma.

Book That Made You Laugh

The humor along with the story made this such an entertaining read. The the dairy and blog entries within the text were relatable, vulnerable, and funny. The character obsession with “The Rock” is one of the many highlights of the book.

Character You Like to Be For a Day

I know this might sound cliche, but I’ve always wanted to spend the day as a wizard from Hogwarts. I think it would be fun to be Hermione for a day.

Book So Good You’ve Dreamt About It

I can’t think of any books I’ve dreamt about recently.

Book You DNFed

The book was too wordy for my tastes.

Book Your Excited to Read

I loved her first novel, and I really liked the writing style. I hope her sophomore novel is just as good!
