Today’s Topic: Day & Night

Found On: Book Snacks

D: Do you read more in the morning or at night?

I would have to say I get a lot of my reading done at night.

A: Are there any books that changed the way you thought about things?

Some, but it’s mainly that certain books have either opened my eyes or I ended up learning more about that specific topic.

For one instance, when I read Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie it really opened my eyes to the way society “discusses”  the topic of race. In the book, the character blogs about how we always talk about race, but sometimes fail to have a “real”/in-depth discussion about it.

I also think historical fiction like the Grave Mercy series by Robin LaFevers gives me a better understanding of and exposes me to historical events.

Y: YA or not?

YA fiction is fantastic!

A: Are there any characters you honestly believe to be real?

It would have to be characters from a more realistic style of fiction. Cath from Fangirl (Rainbow Rowell) is relatable to me and others since the story is a spin on fandoms/geek culture. Darcy from Afterworlds (Scott Westerfield) is realistic because she struggles with the idea of being a writer and the process of creative writing.

I think characters such as those could be real or have a higher chance of existing in the “real world”. As much I love characters like Harry Potter, I don’t think they exist in real life.

N: Nobody borrows my books or I don’t mind lending them out?

I really don’t lend out books and if I do it’s a special circumstance.

D: Do you ever smell your books?

Yep.

N: Not everyone likes books, is this a positive or a negative?

While I understand why some people don’t like books and I can easily say it’s a negative thing, but I would actually have to say its a positive. This is because if we all like books then we would be the same. I think we should all have different types of hobbies since that’s what makes us unique. Plus people might not like to read books, may enjoy magazines and newspapers.

I: I keep my books in the best condition or maybe not? Which are you?

I keep my books in the best condition. My books are my babies.

G: Gosh I have too many books! True or False?

Haha! True with a capital T!

H: Have you ever spilled or stained your books before with something, and if so how?

Yes, too many times to count. In one instance, I decided that I was invincible and ate Cheetos while reading. Needless to say, cheese stains got on the pages. 🙁

T: Toned or untoned while reading? . . or in other words. . .Do you read and workout at the same time?

Haha no! I listen to music while I work out.
