Review

This was such a cute and cozy holiday novel that really puts the reader in a Disney and holiday spirit. The story follows James and Belle who end up going to Disneyland Paris. Belle wants to go to Disney because it reminds me of time she’s and her mom used to do all the Disney things together. Going to Disneyland Paris is a way to remember her mother.

At first I couldn’t get into James and Belle as a couple but over time they grow on to me. The trip acts as a way for them to grow in their relationship. For James to try new things outside of his comfort zone and for Belle to help the healing process in her grief over her mother’s death. Through the trip they on learn more about each other but it helped them to grow closer into have some really deep conversations.

I myself have only been to Disney World but I was happy to experience Disneyland Paris through reading this book. From the descriptions of the rides, the holiday decorations, the yummy restaurants, to the Grand Pink Hotel. It made me want to jump on a plane and fly to Disneyland Paris immediately. It was such an atmospheric novel and it made you want to get into the holiday spirit and also re-watch your favorite Disney films.

What I liked the most about this novel was the balance of it being a cozy heartwarming romance while also dealing with real issues. The holidays can be happy time and also a difficult one as it’s hard to carry out traditions when loved ones are not there anymore. I really appreciated how realistic the conversation was about grief and how they handled it in their relationship. This is such a fun read and I highly recommend it to anybody who enjoys Disney and Christmas.

About The Author

Elsa Simonetti was born in the same year as Walt Disney World, but many miles away in the north of England. Her earliest Disney memory is crying during Bambi at the Saturday morning cinema club! It wasn’t until her own children were small that her husband introduced her to the magic of Disneyland Paris, and since then she has become obsessed, proving Walt Disney’s own belief that “Laughter is timeless, imagination has no age and dreams are forever”. That was the seed of this story – that Disneyland is not just for children, but for anyone who is young at heart.

Elsa also writes romantic women’s fiction under the name of Liz Taylorson.
