#AMonthofFaves: Reading Challenges & Goals of 2015

amonthoffaves

It’s December and the lovely ladies at Girlxoxo, Traveling with T and Estella’s Revenge are once again hosting “A Month of Favorites”.Throughout December I’ll be participating in some of these fun topics where I’ll get to share and look back at my reading experiences from 2015. Today’s Topic:  Challenges {The Year End Updates on Reading Challenges, Personal Goals, Resolutions}

This year went a little better than 2014 in terms of reading overall and the challenges I participated in….

goodreads

As for the Goodreads challenge, this year my goal was 80 books. Currently it says I’ve read 74 book for this year, but I know I read bit over 80 since I forgot to input some of my e-books that I read. I’m really happy!

diversity on the shelf

To push myself to read more diverse books by diverse authors I participated in the Diversity on the Shelf Challenge hosted by My Little Pocketbooks. I did really well too! I chose to do the second shelf level, where I read 7-12 books. I ended up reading 8! Though this is a good start and I did buy a lot more diverse books this year, I  still want to read more novels by multicultural authors in 2016.

2015 Translation

Again in an effort to read more diverse authors on a more global scale, I participated in the Books in Translation Challenge. I’ll chose the conversationalist level, where I had to read 4-6 books. And I only ended up reading 2 books. Yikes!

And last but not least I participated in the Book Riot Read Harder Challenge. I knocked out 13 out of the 24 goals. It’s not horrible, but I would have really liked to complete the challenge. 🙁

2016 Reading Challenges

Once again I’ll be taking on Book Riot’s Read Harder Challenge for 2016. Hopefully I will finish it next year. They have a lot of new categories mixed in with the older ones, so this should lead to an interesting challenge.

goodreads

Doing the Goodreads Reading Challenge again. This time I’ll be reaching for bit higher of a goal, so I’ll be doing 100 books for 2016.

Books in Translation Reading Challenge hosted at The Introverted Reader

I’ll also be partaking in the Literature in Translation challenge too. I’ll be striving to accomplish the Conversationalist (4-6 books) level again. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Read the books you Buy 2016

And last, but not least I’ll be participating in a new challenge called, Read The Books You Buy. It’s hosted by The Book Date and I think this will give me a good push to read more of the books on my shelf. I’ll be doing the level where you have to read 40-60% of your books.

How did you do with your 2015 reading challenges? Are you going to do more challenges next year? Comment below! 🙂
