A Month Of Favorites Introduction: A December Blog Event

Hello readers! I can’t believe it’s already December! Wow, has time flown by! To spice up the blog for the holidays, and to shake up things a little I’ll be participating in a December blogging event called: “A Month of Favorites”. This month-long event is hosted by Girlxoxo, Traveling with T and Estella’s Revenge. Throughout December I’ll be participating in some of these fun topics where I’ll get to share my reading experiences from 2014. To find more info about the blog event click here!

Today’s Topic: Faves Month Introduction

Alright! So my reading goals for this year (I think) were a bit better than last year. My overall reading goal was set at the same number as it was last year (70 books total) and I think I’ll actually achieve my goal this year. I definitely was exposed to some new and though provoking literature through my Human Rights class. I got to read books such as “Anil’s Ghost“, “Sozaboy“, and “The Little School“. It definitely feels weird to know that I won’t have any more undergrad literature classes since I’m graduating this month.

This was definitely the year of reading YA fiction. Mainly because I’ve been way behind reading new and cool books that are consistently being released as well as other genres of books. I got most of my reading done during the blissful days of summer when the sun shone in the sky and making trips to Dairy Queen became a weekly part of my diet.

The authors I read the most from include: Julie Kagawa, Richelle Mead and Lili St. Crow. I read a lot of fantasy, and I  noticed I’ve started reading way more sci-fi style stories than I ever did before.

As for my reading habits:

  • 90% physical books
  • 10% eReader
  • 0% audiobooks

I have an extremely hard time listening to audiobooks so I never give them a try. I feel like when I actually do decide to listen to an audiobook I find my mind wandering. So I hope I will listen to more audiobooks in the future. I also have got to start reading all these e-books I’m buying. It makes no sense why I have read all of those books yet, when I am on the go all the time!

And that’s it! Day 1/ Topic 1 has been completed. Keep your eyes peeled for more of “A Month of Favorites” posts and feel free to participate as well.
