What is the last book adaptation movie you saw?

Wicked: For Good is based off of the muscial that’s based on the book so I guess that counts. Looking back at all of the book adaptations released in 2025, I really need to play catch up with some movies.

What book movie are you most excited about?

Sunrise on the Reaping! I’m a long time reader of the Hunger Games series and I though the novel was very good. I’m curious to see how they will adapt the story. All of the Hunger Games films have been really good.

Which upcoming book movie will you definitely not see?

Any Colleen Hoover movie adaptations. I’m not interested and not a fan of her writing/books.

Which book movie would you never watch again?

I can’t think of any recent watches that come to mind.

Is there a movie you saw that made you want to read the book if you had not yet?

The story of the these four sisters was touching, heartwarming, and deep. I love movies that explore family relationships and I liked how the movie was a coming of age story and the ties that band family together. It was a very meaningful story and I could tell that the starring actresses of this film put their all into the roles. I would be interested in reading the manga the film is based on.

Conversely, is there a movie that made you never want to read the book?

I enojyed watching Fried Green Tomatoes so much that I don’t think I could read the novel now. The movie left a heavy impression on my mind and I loved the acting in this film.

Do you prefer to watch the movie first, or read the book first?

Read the book first!

Is there a movie you liked better than its book?

The movie version of this book is a very loose adaptation of the book. I saw the movie first, and read the book after. I honestly was kind of disappointed by the book because the story was so different plus it wasn’t as exciting as it is displayed in the movie (in my opinion). This movie has a good balance of romance, comedy, and drama.

Name a book you would love to see as a movie.

The Scammer would be great adaptaed into a screenplay. The novel is a young adult psychological thriller about a college freshman, Jordyn, whose life is upended when her roommate’s charming, ex-con brother, Devonte, moves into their dorm at a prestigious HBCU.
