What I’m Listening To…Autumn Leaves Vol.4
Hello readers! I love listening to music of all genres on a daily basis. I can’t go a day without popping on some headphones and listening to some upbeat tunes while I dance around my room or relax from a long day by listening to calming songs. In this blog post series, I’ll be sharing some of my favorite song picks with you in a mini-playlist of five songs.
For this month’s edition of “What I’m Listening To” I decided to feature some songs about the Autumn season that’s just around the corner. While these songs might not be about the season itself, they will definitely set the mood. I tried to stick with a calmer mix of music that comes to mind when I think of fall. I hope you enjoy this musical playlist.
Autumn Nocturne by Samara Joy
I’ve talked about how much of a fan I am of Joy’s work and have seen her live in concert twice! This track is off of her fourth album Portrait and was originally released released in 1941. This jazzy tune reflects on the changing seasons and offers a nostalgic reminder of lost love.
Let Me Know By Jimmy Brown
Brown is a South Korean singer-songwriter and producer who debuted independently in 2017. This soothing and mid-tempo ballad is perfect for the season. It’s overall mellow tone is relaxing and like many of his other songs this track is great to listen to while relaxing.
Magpies by Edbl
Ed Black, also known by his stage name edbl, is an emerging force in the UK music landscape, blending hip-hop, R&B, etc. No vocals on this track, just sweet grooves and a melodious tune!
October Eyes by Alt Bloom
Singer-songwriter Alt Bloom (Ethan Thompson) captures the swing of that wonderful color-changing season through the music video’s visuals and nostalgic feelings expressed in the song. It’s a sweet love song about falling in love.
Peach Velvet Sky by Corinne Bailey Rae
The transcendent ballad is inspired by the true story of Harriet Jacobs told through her self-written autobiography Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl. Bailey Rae originally read Jacobs’ story as a child, however after rediscovering she was empowered and ended up creating this song. It’s such a powerful track!
I hope you enjoyed this mini playlist! What are your favorite songs that remind you of the Autumn season? Comment below with some suggestions.
