Are you a fan of haunted houses?

I can read about haunted houses and watch movies/TV shows about haunted houses but I won’t go in one. I’ve done enough attractions during Spooky Season to know that I am not a fan. Haunted Houses freak me out!
What’s your favorite ghost story or haunted lore?

I don’t have one favorite ghost story so I’ll pick a book that I read and enjoyed last year! This is a fantastic, spooky, and unsettling horror novel. Douglass does a fantastic job of creative an mysterious ambiance adding the smallest details to enhance the horror aspects of this novel. If this novel was a movie I would be on the edge of my seat from the imagery of bloody wraiths, ominous mists rising from the ground and haunting nightmares Jake experiences.
Do you plan on Halloween decor hunting this year? If so, what item(s) do you hope to find?

I don’t plan on buying anything really because I don’t have a lot of space for more decorations. That won’t stop me from window shopping and going to stores to check out what’s new.
Candy corn: love it or hate it?

I used to love candy corn as a child, but now I don’t really like it at all. It’s too sweet to me. My favorite as a kid was the candy pumpkins!
Are you big into costumes and dressing up for Halloween? If so, what’s your favorite costume of all time?

I love to do cosplay, so yes I do like to dress up in costumes. I don’t often get to dress up for Halloween, but one my favorite costumes I ever wore was Tiana from the Disney film from Princess and The Frog.
What is one activity or experience that is on your spooky season bucket list this year?

To see a new Halloween light display or try a Halloween themed pop up at a local restaurant. I’ve done both before, but I had so much fun and would love to find a new place to try.
What book, series or movie screams HALLOWEEN to you?

Because it deals with a haunted house I would recommend this Darcy Coates novel. has all of the formulaic bits of a haunted house story, but she adds some unique elements to make the story entertaining. It was one of those novels that I thought I had figured out and then the plot did a 180 degree spin on me. Coates is a very detailed writer which made this such an immersive reading experience. A fantastic spine-tingling tale.
How do you typically spend your Halloween night?

Eating pizza and watching some of my favorite Halloween themed films! I used to pass out candy, but I don’t get many trick-or-treaters in my neighborhood.
What does Halloween mean to you?

Halloween is offers a unique blend of fun, playfulness, and nostalgia. It occurs during the time of the year that I love (Autumn) and it’s a time for people to enjoy spooky movies, be silly, and escape from the daily grind.
