Today’s Topic: Fall Is in the Air Tag

Autumn: A Book With Fall Colors (Orange, Yellow, Red)

Lauryn Harper Falls Apart is the Autumnal novel any seasonal reader will gravitate to this season. It captures the many changes of the season physically and mentally as each of the characters turn over a new leaf in their own lives. It’s a heartwarming story that feels like a hug from a cozy warm sweater. (Review)

Pumpkin Picking: Favorite Fictional Food

Technically this is a real food and I have not read the original novel Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe by Fannie Flagg. I did watch the movie adaptation and I really want to try this recipe.

Lost In a Corn Maze: A Book You Got Lost In (A Really Good Book)

Sambury does an amazing job of setting up the world-building and creating this space that exists beyond the realms of everyday society. (Review)

Birds Fly South: What Bad Book (trope) Made You Want to Fly South

As a whole this novel was very underwhelming and the pacing was so slow (a bit too slow in my opinion). I felt that the author was trying to tackle a lot of topics within the story and the way the themes were layered was sometimes confusing and hard to follow. If you’re looking for a traditional ghost story (like I was) maybe skip this novel. (Review)

Sweaters: A Book That Makes You Happy

I loved this book to pieces and what I appreciated most about it is the raw honesty and emotions that not only Quinn, but other characters go through over the course of the novel. The romance that develops between Carter and Quinn is so sweet to watch especially as they bring out the good in each other. (Review)

Ghost Story: A Scary/Spooky Book

Camp Twisted Pine is delightful spooky and a solid summer camp story! I also enjoyed the novel’s setting of an eerie forest where danger may be lurking in the shadows. It was interesting to see the world building around the setting and learning about the mysteries of the land as the truth becomes unraveled. Readers get to put on their detective hats to follow clues and the way a very famous cryptid is used in the story gives its original urban legend a unique twist.  (Review)

Black Cat: Favorite Fictional Pet

Snoopy! He’s my favorite!

Demons: Favorite Evil/Villainous Character

I felt the the horror and supernatural elements blended well together in this novel. I enjoyed the setting of a ominous, mysterious pawn shop with magical items” and a well-written villain (Skinner) who lurks in the shadows, appearing at any moment. (Review)

Grim Reaper: A Character You Want Dead

I don’t know.

Halloween Party: What Book Character Would You Dress Up As?

Because I accidentally wore his outfit to work one day, lol. So I already have the costume ready.
