Review:

I’ll have to admit that I was unaware of Mr Skelly’s fame going into reading How Lucky Am I, but now I’ve become an instant fan! The creation of the Watson, 1924us is agency dedicated to preserving the practices of early 1900’s in relevant fields of expertise: photography, branding, writing, design, and archiving. And that definitely translates to the artwork of Mr Skelly and his lavish pictures (as seen below). His presence is skeletal though very comforting with his motivational messages and soothing imagery along each page.

I truly appreciated Watson sharing some of his own life lessons throughout the book which gave it a personal touch. Mr Skelly’s words of wisdom often remind us that we are not alone in our struggles. Most importantly, this book is a reminder that it’s okay to not be okay and how to tackle difficult emotions in our lives. These affirming words give the reader solace and motivate them to overcome obstacles.

The attention to detail on each page is mesmerizing! It’s definitely a book in which the reader can go back and find something new in each picture every time they’ll pick up a book. The warm tones in the lansdscape instantly put the reader at ease as well. Every page felt like a new adventure and you can feel the intention behind the creation of each picture.

How Lucky Am I was a fantastic read from beginning to end! Whenever I need a little pick me up I can refer back to this book and smile. Those readers that love intricate art and uplifting words should pick up this book and add it to your shelves.
