Review:
The Snowman Code is a heartfelt story that is not only perfect for a cozy Winter read, but any time of the year. The novel follows the story of a blooming friendship between the two main characters, Blessing and Albert, who meet in unexpected circumstances. What happens next is a journey that will lead them to finding a way to stop an endless Winter and helping each other overcome obstacles in their lives.
While this is a story aimed at middle-grade readers, I feel it’s equally for adults as well. It’s whimsical and lighthearted while keeping the story grounded in life lessons (we could all take away from the book). The story is a reminder to be kind to ourselves at its core. I appreciated how the novel tackles themes of mental health with great empathy. Winter can be magical, but is hard for many because the days have less sunlight. This affects people’s mood and energy. Readers see this play out in detail in the relationship between Blessing and her mom.
I loved how silly this book could be, and it made me smile and laugh many times. My favorite character (and probably other readers too) was Albert the snowman. He has such a vibrant personality, and I loved his rules via the Snowman Code and his naive nature about the world around him. It was so sweet to see him bond with Blessing, especially since she needed him as much as he needed her.
If you’re looking for a cozy read to snuggle up with this Winter, add this novel to your reading list!
Final Verdict:

FTC Disclaimer: I received this book from the publisher in exchange for a fair and honest review.

This sounds super cute! But endless winter would be good for Albert, wouldn’t it? Where does he go when it’s not winter anymore? #concerned
It’s kind of Frosty the Snowman situation in this novel, but with a happy ending.
