What I’m Listening To…Halloween Party Vol.4

Hello readers! I love listening to music of all genres on a daily basis. I can’t go a day without popping on some headphones and listening to some upbeat tunes while I dance around my room or relax from a long day by listening to calming songs. In this blog post series, I’ll be sharing some of my favorite song picks with you in a mini playlist of five songs.

For this month’s edition of “What I’m Listening To” I decided to supply you with some spooky tunes for Halloween! This time around I chose some Halloween-themed tracks or songs that have a supernatural theme to them. Enjoy! *To see last year’s picks, click here!

Freaks Come Out At Night by Whodini

This is probably the most well known song on the playlist, but I wanted to start off the playlist with a bang. I love listening to this song at Halloween time and all year long. It’s got a funky sound that instantly makes you want to get up and dance.

Skully Gully by Bobby “Boris” Pickett”

Another Halloween track from the famous Monster Mash singer you may not be familiar with. It has a upbeat melody with a groovy guitar melody in the background. Skully Gully sounds like such a whimsical dance. I wonder if there’s a tutorial for it?

Like The Zombies Do from Zombies OST

As cheesy as these movies are I love the Zombies film series to pieces! This funky dance track is from the second film where the Zombies teach the werewolves how to fit in with their town. The choreogprahy is so much fun and I love singing along every time this song comes on.

Hex Girl from Scooby Doo and the Witch’s Ghost

The Hex Girls is a fictional gothic rock band featured in the film Scooby Doo and the Witch’s Ghost. This fictional band was a staple of many 90s kids nostalgia and it such a catchy song. Their imagery along with theme of the song makes it a fitting song for the Spooky Season!

Haunted Heart by Christina Aguilera

This is one of my favorite songs from the The Addams Family film soundtrack released in 2019. While recording Haunted Heart Aguilera was inspired by the work of Billie Holiday and Screamin’ Jay Hawkins. I love the combination of soulful vocals, a brass filled melody, and the slight eerieness of the song’s lyrics.

And that concludes my Halloween Party playlist! What songs do you recommend? Let me know in the comments below!
